A total of 7,282 people in Yorkshire have now tested positive for coronavirus.

The latest update from the Department of Health, which counts cases confirmed before 12.30am today, shows a rise of 251 cases in Yorkshire since the same time on Monday.

Sheffield is the worst-hit local authority area, with 1,684 confirmed cases, followed by Leeds with 958 cases.

In the UK, the total number of lab-confirmed cases is 129,044.

The death toll in UK hospitals now stands at 17,337, with 1,130 deaths confirmed in Yorkshire hospitals.

The full list of confirmed cases by local authority area are as follows:

Barnsley - 476

Bradford - 602

Calderdale - 196

Doncaster - 280

East Riding - 346

Hull (Kingston upon Hull) - 259

Kirklees - 444

Leeds - 958

North Lincolnshire - 171

Rotherham - 515

Sheffield - 1,684

Wakefield - 413

York - 189
