A total of 8,891 people in Yorkshire have now tested positive for coronavirus.

The latest update from the Department of Health, which counts cases confirmed before 12.30am today, shows a rise of 232 cases in Yorkshire since the same time on Saturday.

A further 38 people in Leeds have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the city's total confirmed cases to 1,209

Sheffield is the worst-hit local authority area in Yorkshire with 1,928 confirmed cases, followed by Leeds.

In the UK, the total number of lab-confirmed cases is 152,840.

The death toll in UK hospitals now stands at 20,732, with 1,499 deaths confirmed in Yorkshire hospitals.
