Harrogate Hospital confirms sad news that patient 'with underlying health conditions' being treated for coronavirus has died

An elderly patient who tested positive for coronavirus and was cared for by teams at Harrogate District Hospital has died.

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust confirmed the sad news to the Harrogate Advertiser this afternoon, March 17, explaining that the patient had 'other significant underlying health conditions.'

In a statement, the Trust said: “Sadly, we can confirm that an elderly patient who was being cared for at Harrogate District Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.

“The patient had other significant underlying health conditions.

“The patient’s family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time."
