The Trust paid tribute to its extraordinary healthcare teams and all staff who are working round-the-clock behind the scenes to make this statistic a positive reality, stating: "Thank you to all of our incredible #teamHDFT colleagues."

And people have shared their messages of support for the staff at the hospital, with Cathryn Buck commenting: Absolutely wonderful well done to our heroes," and Valerie Hunter adding: "Well done Harrogate Hospital, you are all doing a good job and are special people. God bless you all, and thank you."

The latest figures by NHS England show that to date 53 patients have sadly died at Harrogate District Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.
