Following the latest advice issued by Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday, Mama Doreen's, on James Street, has posted a statement on Facebook to say it will be closing its cafe - but will still be open for takeaway options.

The business says it is fully booked for Mother's Day this weekend, but in light of new guidelines which advise people to limit social contact, it will now be offering an alternative afternoon tea service, delivered to your door.

The cafe has closed but stressed the shop is still open for takeaway options.

It will be contacting those with bookings to discuss alternatives, including postponement or a gift voucher.

Mama Doreen's has made clear that its shop will still be open and takeaways are still available from both Deliveroo and the shop itself - with a new takeaway menu launching today

The statement says: "We are praying this will pass quickly - but in the meantime, we're here for you every step of the way."

It has stressed that gift options such as vouchers are still available and can be delivered.
