The figures were released by NHS England on Wednesday, December 9.

The data relates to people who have died while in hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.

One person died in a hospital under the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

Two people died in hospitals in Barnsley.

One person died in a hospital in Bradford.

Four people died in hospitals in Calderdale and Huddersfield.

11 people died in hospitals in Doncaster.

Three people died in hospitals in Leeds.

15 people died in hospitals in Wakefield, Dewsbury and Pontefract.

Six people died in hospitals in Sheffield.

Two people died in hospitals in South Tees.

Four people died in hospitals in York.

The total Covid-19 death toll in Yorkshire hospitals is 5,204.

A further 344 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died in England.

Patients were aged between 16 and 100 years old

Date of death ranges from 18 October to 8 December 2020 with the majority being on or after 4 December.

The total number of confirmed reporter deaths in England is 43,248.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28 NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
