Rossett Acre pupil banks top prize with happy theory

The 2016 My Money Week National Competition focused on considering how we value what makes us happy.

Children had to create a story board illustrating priceless things in their life which make them happy.

Altogether 5,211 entries were received from schools across the UK and Year 6 Rossett Acre pupil Mia Felstead was chosen as the overall winner of the Primary contest she entered when in Year 5.

Mia, her family and a teacher from the school attended the Prize Giving Day in October at the British Museum in London to collect Mia’s award.

The first place prize included: a digital camera, a goody bag and a £50 Amazon voucher for Mia. In addition, Mia was also awarded £500 for her school.

Miss Haigh, Mia’s Year 5 Teacher stated: “Mia is an excellent ambassador for our school and she thoroughly enjoyed her day at the Young Enterprise award ceremony.

“Mia’s winning entry was particularly eye-catching due to its articulate and thoughtful content.”
