Ripon Outwood Academy celebrates 'amazing' efforts of GCSE students
Outwood Academy Ripon says it is celebrating the 'amazing efforts and achievements of its year 11 students and staff in producing a strong set of results'.
A statement from the school reads: "It is wonderful to finally congratulate our students for the many fantastic outcomes of their hard work. This Year 11 cohort have had to contend with some significant challenges and have done so admirably and without any loss of enthusiasm.
"Although they have missed seminal moments at the end of their final year with us we have no doubt that they will be successful in the next steps they take in education and employment."
More than 77% of all Year 11 students were successful in achieving a grade 4 or higher in both English and mathematics.
The school added: "There were also excellent results in other subjects and although not all can be included, the impact of 68% of Combined Science students achieving two grade 4s will influence significantly their ability to access the next phase of their educational careers, well done. There have also been wonderful individual successes with Ryan Chandler achieving six grade 9 and two grade 8. Ryan’s results and those of his peers represent a real achievement for our students and are testament to their hard work and the continued outstanding teaching and support offered by the academy."
