The popular panel show is still being produced each week despite social distancing and tomorrow night, Friday the hilarious Maisie will be joining the show's regulars Paul Merton and Ian Hislop with fellow guest LBC radio presenter James O'Brien and guest host Romesh Ranganathan.

Along with the rest of the participants, Maisie will be broadcasting from home during the topical 30-minute show, in this case where she now lives in Brighton.

A former head girl at St Aidan's High School in Harrogate, having only started doing stand-up in 2016, Maisie shot to fame after winning top prize in the So You Think You’re Funny stand-up competition at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017.

She is now a regular star on shows such as BBC TV’s Mock the Week and Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats.

But Maisie has not forgotten her roots and, as a big fan of Harrogate, she still returns regularly to take part in Harrogate Comedy Festival at Harrogate Theatre and support her old school.

After winning the Edinburgh Fringe awards, Maisie told the Harrogate Advertiser: "I really do feel like the luckiest girl in the world. To do what I absolutely love every day as a job is just an absolute dream.

"What I really love about Harrogate Comedy Festival is that it champions everyone from the big names to the up-and-coming comics and also brand new with its New Comedian Competition. It’s just brilliant.”

Have I Got News For You will be broadcast on Friday, May 1 on BBC 1 at 8.30pm.
