With the Coronavirus pandemic putting the brakes on traditional fundraising activities, the virtual marathon is amongst a list of initiatives being staged by the charity.

The brothers - who are patients at the hospital - completed a virtual marathon over a number of days, sometimes running two miles, and others four miles a day.

The siblings – who normally focus on team sports and don’t usually choose to run, or have the time to do it – confessed it had been a real change for them.

And once completed, they admitted that “running makes them feel happy, and it was good to do it together”. They have now signed up for their next virtual marathon and have already done five miles.
