It's the one thing Harrogate town centre has lacked - and now all that is about to change.

For the first time in years, shoppers can look forward to having a fishmongers among the range of shops in the middle of Harrogate.

The new fishmongers is part of Yorkshire's largest independent fish retailers which already has successful outlets in Leeds, Chapel Allerton and Wetherby.

At the moment, Harrogate town centre is blessed by a couple of great butchers but the last fishmongers in town was famous family firm Ramus, which wasn't really in the town centre.

In fact, Ramus luxury seafood business moved out of its Kings Road home earlier in the year and into Fodder farms shop and cafe which is located at the Great Yorkshire Showground,

The final touches for preparations to open the brand new Tarbett's fishmongers on Commercial Street in Harrogate were being put together at the weekend with staff busy could be seen busy at work in the premises.

Tarbett's is renowned for serving the finest quality seafood from around the world at its existing shops and has built up a reputation for high quality fish.

Its Harrogate branch is scheduled to open tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8.
