Taylors of Harrogate on the hunt for sustainability champion

The company, a major employer in the town, is advertising the full-time position of sustainable development coordinator.

The lucky candidate will assist head of sustainable development Simon Hotchkin and gain experience of assessing and improving sustainable practices at all stages of the supply chain, from bush to brew.

That means that as well as working at Taylors’ production facilities in Harrogate, the successful applicant will also need to visit suppliers’ farms and plantations in Africa, Asia and South America.

They will have a varied selection of responsibilities, including the introduction of projects to reduce waste, utilities and emissions, communicating the company’s sustainability efforts overseas and managing its traceability systems for certifications such as the Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade.
