Springtime Live returns to Great Yorkshire Showground in 2015

The event, organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, aims to provide a fun filled insight into the countryside and rural life.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2015 event, which will take place on Sunday, March 22.

The show is aimed particularly at families with young children.

The Society is best known as the organiser of the annual Great Yorkshire Show.

Bill Cowling, Show Director said: “Springtime Live made its debut last year – and proved a great success, so we are building on that for our second event.

“We have included the popular elements from last year, but brought in some new attractions too.”

Topping the timetable is television’s Mr Bloom from CBeebies’ Mr Bloom’s Garden, whose aim is to enthuse children about gardening and nature fits well with the event’s ethos, said Mr Cowling.

Also new will be the opportunity to try a form of tightrope walking, courtesy of The Slackline Company.

There will also be farm animals, lots of hands on activities – from rug making to dry stone walling and from mountain biking to bread making. In addition there will be workshops and stands with a wide range of products including food, toys and gifts.

Tickets bought in advance cost £8 (children £5).

Tickets on the gate will cost £10 (£5).

Youngsters under the age of 3 admitted free of charge.

Parking is free and extensive. Dogs, other than assistance dogs are not permitted on the showground.

The Society is the organiser of the annual farming and country showcase, the Great Yorkshire Show and its sister event, Countryside Live. Both take place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire and are flagship events for agriculture and rural life.
