Milestones achieved since the launch of its London dry gin in September include production of the 6,000th bottle, and a growing list of more than 70 stockists nationwide, including department store Harrods.

The company has also recently welcomed the 1,000th customer through the doors of Spirit of Harrogate, its shop on Montpellier Parade in Harrogate.

Marcus Black, Slingsby Gin co-founder and managing director, said: “We have ambitious plans for growth and are delighted to have achieved so much in just six months after our very first sale of Slingsby Gin.

“Starting the spring and summer season having exceeded our launch plans is a terrific boost and testament to our hard-working team and we are encouraged by the great response and appetite for our premium product.”

Half of Slingsby’s 24 botanicals are grown in Harrogate’s Rudding Park Hotel kitchen garden and combined with spring-water drawn from the Harrogate aquifer.

The gin is named after Sir William Slingsby, who is said to have been the first to appreciate the properties of the Tewit Well in Harrogate in 1596.
