Sharon Canavar won last year's Business Personality of the Year award at the Harrogate Advertiser Excellence in Business Awards.

Sharon has today told the Harrogate Advertiser that the Excellence in Business Awards are a huge date in the calendar and that she hopes everyone in Harrogate will get involved.

She said: "These awards are the centre-piece of Harrogate. They are the best way to keep up with what's going on in that sector across our district, knowing who is really up and coming and keeping afloat of everyone's great ideas.

"The evening is a really great thing for the area and it's so lovely to celebrate everyone's achievements. I was lucky enough to win a personal award last year as well as the one with the team and it was an amazing experience.

"It's great for brand awareness and boosting your profile - not to mention it's a great night out."

Sharon has said that she would encourage anyone in the business world in the Harrogate district to get involved in any way they can.

She added: "I can't stress enough what a huge fan of these awards I am - they are always of such a high standard and that's why it is always worth entering, sponsoring or attending.

"It's a great way to network and meet other people in the field."
