Springfield is building Harcourt Gardens adjacent to Mowbray Square Medical Centre, close to the Stray. and the home is due to open this summer. It is forecast to create over 100 new jobs in the town.

Springfield says the home will offer “outstanding nurse-led care residential, nursing and dementia care with a personalised touch”.

The care home will be the closest purpose-built care home to Harrogate town centre, and the company says it will have the latest amenities, larger-than-average day spaces, its own garden, stunning views, and access to a gym, spa, cinema and café.

Mr Lee said: “I’m very proud and excited to be adding Harcourt Gardens, Harrogate – our sixth care home – to the Springfield care home portfolio this summer.

“With a proven track record of offering kind and compassionate, high-quality care in beautiful settings, I know that this home will offer its residents everything that they could need or wish for.”

He added: “We will also be creating over 100 jobs at a time when many businesses in the area may be in the unenviable position of making redundancies – providing an excellent opportunity for people to consider an alternative career.”

The new care home is the latest in a series of such facilities to be built over the last decade in Harrogate. Vida Healthcare opened Vida Hall, a specialist dementia home in Starbeck, in 2013, and its sister facility Vida Grange opened in Pannal at the end of 2016.

The upmarket Manor House on Cornwall Road opened in December 2018, and the third in the Vida group, Vida Court, is due to open near RHS Harlow Carr this summer.

Springfield Healthcare was founded in 1967 as a family business and now runs care homes in York, Ilkley, Leeds, Garforth and Beverley.
