“It has been great to finally meet all our new customers and see first hand how enthusiastic Harrogate is about their food! You guys really know your stuff.”
Harrogate may boast several award-winning butchers, but, since Ramus luxury seafood business moved out of its Kings Road home earlier in the year into Fodder farms shop and cafe at the Great Yorkshire Showground, the one thing shoppers complain it has lacked has been a traditional fish retailers.

Mr Tarbett said:“I’ve always had great respect for Ramus when they were based here, and since they moved out of Kings Road earlier this year, we thought that Commercial Street would be a great location to set up one of our own shops.
“Everyone we’ve spoken to so far seems thrilled about having a fresh fish shop back in the town centre. We’re just glad we can be a part of it.”
Tarbett’s already has successful outlets in Leeds, Chapel Allerton and Wetherby and has built up a strong reputation for the finest seafood from around the world and high quality fish.

Recent weeks have seen a show of resilience by Harrogate’s independent food and drink sector since lockdown was eased.
In another boost, Baltzersen’s, the Scandinavian-inspired cafe, is preparing to open its new Bakery for self-produced bread, cakes and pastries on Oxford Street.
