10,000th customers

Samantha Parker Optometrist, which opened in 2002, welcomed the 10,000th individual patient to its Market Place premises (return visits are not included in the tally) – with a bottle of champagne.

Just two doors along, on Castlegate, Aurum hair salon also served its 10,000 customer, even though it only opened in 2014.

Owner Sarah Stoff said: “We’ve had a truly amazing first year and I would like to thank all of our loyal customers for joining us on our exciting journey.

“We have managed to serve more than 10,000 customers which I think is some feat in just over a year and are all looking forward to becoming an even bigger part of the Knaresborough business community for many years to come.”

Samantha Parker, whose practice employs four people, added: “I’m absolutely thrilled. We’d been seeing the count go up and up, and we’ve finally made it. It’s very rewarding to be in business this long. It feels like a vindication of what we’re doing.”
