Jean MacQuarrie, editor of the Harrogate Advertiser series, said: “Award hopefuls have until the end of business hours tomorrow (Friday, February 28) to get their nominations in – and be in with a chance of winning the recognition they deserve.

“So if you haven’t entered yet, there is still time, and you have nothing to lose. It’s free and it’s easy – just go to www.harrogatebusinessawards.co.uk. And good luck!”

The awards, which are sponsored by Harrogate estate agent Verity Frearson, are open to any business based within the circulation area of this newspaper and its sister titles, which cover the whole of the Harrogate District, plus Wetherby, Tadcaster and villages east of Leeds.

There are 12 categories to enter, with awards for the Best Newcomer, Community Initiative of the Year, Best Rural Business, Best SME, Best Large Company, Best Family-Run Business, Employer of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Sustainability, Technological Development, and Tourism.

The shortlists will be announced next week and the winners will be revealed at a black-tie ceremony on April 2.

Hundreds of members of the region’s business community are expected to attend the event, which will be held at Pavilions of Harrogate, and hosted once again by veteran BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration MBE.
