The campaign was set up by the centre to support and encourage local talent in the community, as well as provide the chance for people to express their passion for Harrogate. It garnered interest from across the town and received numerous entries from enthusiastic individuals.

James White, Victoria Shopping Centre manager, said: “Congratulations to Laura, her imaginative and thought-provoking idea was a real masterpiece that embodies the town and its community.

"We felt this was a great opportunity to welcome our shoppers to put their own stamp on what Harrogate means to them and where better to showcase it than the outside of the shopping centre.

“Many of the submissions we received were of exceptional quality, so thank you to everyone who took part, but it was Laura’s that really shone.

"We are extremely excited to have the official artwork on display at the centre.”

Laura Holmes said “I am thrilled to have been chosen. I can’t quite believe my design is going to be hanging on the outside of Victoria Shopping Centre for everyone in the town to see. I recently started dabbling in signage and calligraphy so when this fantastic opportunity came along to combine two of my great passions – my new-found hobby and of course Harrogate, which I love, I just knew I had to enter.

"Thanks so much to James and the team for giving me the opportunity to display my work in such a unique manner.”
