The Cairn Group has bought the Majestic as part of its acquisition of five hotels across the UK.

Cairn Group director Naveen Handa said: “The Majestic Hotel is a grand and beautiful property set in eight acres of private gardens, as well as being well-located – a short walk from Harrogate International Centre and in close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

As part of our future plans, we intend to invest in the hotel’s facilities, which include 170 bedrooms, dining venues, conferencing suites, a spa and health club, to really bring the Victorian mansion’s iconic features to life.”

The Cairn Group’s finance director Richard Warren added: “This is an incredibly exciting move for us. We are continuing to break into new territories and penetrate new customer bases.

“Each of the hotels is completely unique. We see huge potential for them within the Cairn Group portfolio as we expand our coverage into new areas.”

The group’s other acquired hotels are in County Durham, Stirling, Cardiff and Brighton. The Majestic Hotel is its third acquisition of the year.
