Provenance Inns & Hotels, which includes the West Park Hotel in Harrogate, had previously said it would be continuing the Government-sponsored discount scheme on Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2 as part of the Yorkshire-based chain's tenth anniversary celebration.

But today it announced it would continue the discounts for the whole of September.

Restaurants in the Harrogate district have been appealing to customers to keep coming - even after the Eat Out to Help Out discount scheme ended on August 31.

Business leaders' pleas to the Government to extend the scheme further to support the UK's food and drinks sector may have fallen on deaf ears.

But diners at Provenance Inns & Hotels will still see their restaurant bills reduced by as much as 50% throughout the entire month of September at the following locations.

The West Park Hotel, Harrogate

The Black Bull, Moulton

The Carpenters Arms, Felixkirk

The Oak Tree, Helperby

The Punch Bowl, Marton cum Grafton

The Crown & Cushion, Welburn

The Cleveland Tontine, Staddlebridge (opening September 12)

Provenance Inns say anyone visiting any of its sites on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout September will receive the half price discount – helping to keep the dining out experience accessible for all, whilst the economy and communities find their feet.

Karen French, managing director of Provenance Inns & Hotels, said: “As a token of our gratitude, I am delighted to announce that we will be extending the “Eat Out To Help Out” offer beyond the government end date of Monday, August 31.

"We will be continuing the offer from Monday to Wednesday for the month of September. It is our 10-year anniversary in September, and it seems fitting to kick off our celebrations with a genuine thanks to our customers.”

The discount will follow the terms and conditions of the original government offer of food and non-alcoholic drinks, with a maximum discount per person of £10.

It could save a family of four up to £40 per meal.
