Harrogate council's £2.3million coronavirus business support fund opens - and how to apply

The council has today, Friday, launched the first phase of its £2.3million discretionary grants fund which is offering out grants of up to £10,000.
Applications will only be accepted from eligible businesses who submit an application before midnight on June 21.

Hide AdBusinesses in shared offices or business parks and market traders will be able to apply for the same grants from June 15. Applications for these businesses will close at midnight on June 28.
The grants will be staggered depending on the size and nature of the business, with the council deciding how to fairly distribute the money to benefit as many businesses as possible.
Businesses must have been trading before March 11, 2020 and have fewer than 50 employees.

Hide AdThey must also have a rateable value or annual mortgage of below £51,000 and demonstrate an ongoing fixed property cost.
The financial help is not available to businesses eligible for other government coronavirus grants.
Coun Graham Swift, the council's deputy leader and cabinet member for resources, enterprise and economic development, said “These funds are aimed at small businesses with ongoing fixed property costs who may have missed out in previous grant fund schemes. B&Bs and smaller charities will be particular beneficiaries of this and we welcome an application being made.
“This comes off the back of the previous £50million grant funding available to other businesses across the Harrogate district.
