Firm gears up for growth after merger
Derry Construction Ltd has bought Chase Joinery and Metal Products for an undisclosed sum and has moved all operations to Chase’s premises at Camwal Road in Starbeck.
The merger brings the new company’s total headcount to 17, plus three apprentices.

Hide AdShane Derry, managing director of Derry Construction, said: “Chase joining forces with Derry Construction allows larger joinery projects such as orangeries and sunrooms to be undertaken.
“Historically Chase only manufactured its products, but now with the benefit of Derry Construction’s building experience it can now provide a full fitting service for its clients. Joinery contracting work for larger main contractors is also firmly on the list of activities for the company.”
Mr Derry, who sits on the national steering committee for the re-specification of all the UK’s construction apprenticeship schemes, also said that training would be at the heart of the firm’s plans.
“We’ll be taking on apprentices every year and grow through in-house training, and mushroom out that way,” he said.
