This is when the new Knaresborough Aldi is set to open

The new store on Swallowtail Way is the first store in the area and will be run by Store Manager Matthew Washbrook, along with a team of 38 colleagues from the local community.

As part of Aldi’s investment in local communities across the UK, the store will bring 30 new job opportunities to the area and offer more customers access to Aldi’s high quality, low-price products.

The new store will offer fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, Aldi’s award-winning ‘Specially Selected’ range - which was recently voted ‘Favourite Premium Supermarket Range’ by readers of Good Housekeeping magazine - exclusive Beers, Wines and Spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store.

Aldi’s Specialbuys will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday, offering extraordinary value on a wide range of products, from electrical items to garden tools.

Customers visiting the store can safely pick up all the essentials they need. The Aldi in Knaresborough has a number of safety measures in place, including sanitisation stations on entry, Perspex screens at its tills and social distancing reminders in store, as well as a traffic light system to control the number of people going in and out of the store.

Aldi Store Manager Matthew Washbrook said: “We’re really looking forward to opening the first Aldi store here in Knaresborough. It’s set to be a great day and it’ll be lovely to welcome our new customers into the store and provide them with access to affordable, high-quality food.”

Additionally, the new Aldi store is calling on local charities and food banks in Knaresborough to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.

Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to five days a week. Any charities in the area that would like to partner up with the new Aldi store should email [email protected].

The new store will be located at 2 Swallowtail Way, Knaresborough, HG5 0GA and will be open Monday - Saturday: 8am – 10pm and Sunday: 10am – 4pm
