There are still five awards available for sponsorship – Apprentice of the Year, Community Initiative of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Digital and Technological Development Award, and Best Large Company (over 50 employees).

Any new sponsor would be joining a select club that includes Harrogate estate agent and main sponsor Verity Frearson, as well as the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Rudding Park, Si Recruitment, Berwins Solicitors, Harrogate Borough Council, Leathers the Accountants, Impression Recruitment, and Cicada Communications.

Harrogate-based Si Recruitment, which specialises in servicing the accountancy and finance industries, as well as placing people in admin and secretarial roles, has been a category sponsor since the awards’ inception in 2006. This year, it is sponsoring the Best SME award.

Director Mark Sanderson said: “Sponsoring an award has been good for us. We’re very much part of the local business community and we like to be able to show that through these awards. As a young company 14 years ago, it also lent us some credibility and helped us to grow.”

Entry to the awards – at www.harrogatebusinessawards.co.uk – is free. The deadline for entries is Friday, February 28.
