Airport holds event to '¨help careers take off

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is to host a Career Recruitment Fair to showcase the range of job opportunities on offer there in 2016.

Around 2,500 people are employed at LBA, but planned traffic growth will require additional staff.

Major exhibiting companies will include Jet2.com and the airport’s handling agent, Swissport, as well as commercial partners including SSP, Superdrug, Flightcare and World Duty Free.

The airport itself will be looking for new employees in security, retail and customer service, including cabin crew, ticket desk staff and drivers.

As well as temporary roles some fixed-term seasonal contracts lasting from April to the end of October 2016 will also be available.

Tatjana Walker, LBA’s head of passenger services, said: “We are expecting significant interest in the Career Recruitment Fair and we look forward to welcoming job-seekers to join us to talk to companies and find out more about the opportunities available in 2016.”

The Career Recruitment Fair will be held at LBA in the main terminal building on Saturday, March 12, from 10am to 2pm.
