A new comedy club is to be launched in Knaresborough in a team-up with popular Harrogate club, Sitting Room.

Whilst Sitting Room’s critically acclaimed night continues at the St George Hotel in Harrogate, Knaresborough residents can now enjoy their own Frazer Theatre Comedy Club located, as the name suggests, at the town’s intimate Frazer Theatre.

Star turn Tavaré trained at RADA before first making his name on the stand-up circuit thanks to his unique ability with a double bass, an instrument he had learned to play during his childhood.

At the beginning of his stand-up career, he toured as an opening act for the Stranglers before starring in a series of short, silent films for BBC2. He also had a sketch series on Channel Five, co-written with Ricky Gervais, called The Jim Tavaré Show. Since then, more TV and movie roles have followed here and in the USA.

Tickets for both Harrogate and Knaresborough shows are are available from www.sittingroomcomedy.com or by calling 07807 476 856 or on the door.
