Summer City to support Seagulls at Major Tom’s

Former AMP Awards winners Summer City have joined the bill for this Thursday’s big indie night at Major Tom’s Social in Harrogate.

Playing as part, appropriately enough, of an event called The Second Summer of Charm, Benji Adams (Guitar/Vocals/Programming), Kit Parker (Bass/Backing Vocals) and Ben Reynard (Drums/Backing Vocals) achieved huge success in 2013 with the accolade of Radio 1’s Single Of The Week.

And they promoted recent single We Were On A Break with a national tour taking in venues from London to Newcastle.

The night’s headliners at Major Tom’s on The Ginnel are Leeds outfit The Seagulls who are flying the flag for classic guitar bands.

The five-piece band from Leeds are fresh from supporting late 70s cult band The Monochrome Set at a show in London.

After a string of strong singles, Girl You Must Be Dreaming, The Seagulls’ latest single on indie label Sandtrap Records, has also been receiving rave reviews.

The band cite their influences as The Beatles, The Kinks, Scott Walker, Lee Hazelwood, Conor Oberst, The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, Stone Roses, The Jam, Jack Kerouac and My Morning Jacket.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets from www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk
