Well-known for its close connections with musicians which have led to many a memorable night, often involving various members of The Levellers, Harefield Hall at Pateley Bridge is gearing up for its annual Scarefest.

To be held on Saturday, October 25, it’s the third year running this hotel has held this popular event and, unsurprisingly, the accommodation for that Saturday is fully booked.

But there are still tickets available and there is camping on site and plenty of alternative accommodation around elsewhere in that part of the Dales.

As well as the usual fancy dress costumes, great beer, a hog roast and relaxed atmosphere, Scarefest 3 will see live music from 6pm until late from young local rock band Set Sails and more groovy, funky, bluesy sounds from Melor Hughes, Shanks Pony, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican and New Groove Foundation.

Tickets are available with or without camping (bring you own campervan or tent) from 01423 711429. Over-18s only.

And there’s more live music at Harefield with MFOR perform on Saturday, December 20.
