Ripley Castle to host Foodies Festival

The UK’s biggest celebration of food and drink is coming to Ripley this summer.

Foodies Festival will be celebrating Yorkshire produce and top chefs at Ripley Castle over three days at the bank holiday August weekend.

As part of the event’s 10th anniversary celebrations, Ripley will be awash in Michelin-star and celebrity chefs, award-winning artisan producers and food and drink masterclasses.

Known as the “food, fun and friends” festival, the event is designed to appeal to foodies of all levels, from experienced gourmands to amateur home cooks, anyone who enjoys good food, in fact.

So, among the street food, look out for well-known chefs such as Rosemary Shrager; Master Chef Winner 2014, Ping Coombes; celebrity chef Rachel Green, founder of Hungry Gecko, Jackie Kearney; Sara Danesin Medio of St John’s Dining Club; ITV’s Food Glorious Food Winner Rahila Hussain and Katy B, the award-winning vegan Little Miss Meat Free blogger.

Running from August 21-23, the Foodies Festival is clearly designed to cater to all types of food fan.

Chocolate addicts can get an instant hit of cocoa with How to Sniff Chocolate like a Rockstar lessons from Coeur de Xocolat in the Cake & Bake Theatre.

The BBQ Arena is perfect for fans of outdoor cooking with daily ‘King of the Grill’ cook-offs.

A Street Food Avenue can be found at the heart of the festival offering a huge selection of hot and cold dishes from around the world. Japanese, Thai, Brazilian, Argentinian, Mexican, French and African cuisines are just some of the cuisines visitors can tuck into at communal tables in the Feasting Tent.

Little foodies can explore their taste buds and learn basic skills with Picnic in the Park themed masterclasses in the Children’s Cookery Theatre,

And there’s also The Aga Rangemaster Chefs Theatre welcomes celebrity and regional chefs, who will cook their favourite summer recipes.
