It’s one of the most popular events on Harrogate’s food and drinks calendar and it’s been that way now for 25 years.

Harrogate Charity Beer Festival returns next week with a selection of more than 25 beers and a variety of ciders - as well as live music on all three nights from top local acts such as Rob Reynolds, Yo Preston and Pony & Trap.

Hosted by Harrogate Round Table, as always, some of the spotlight will fall on locally-brewed beer at the Crown Hotel over the festival’s three days.

Organiser Craig Pinches, who is himself a member of the Round Table, said: “We are very excited to be showcasing what are, arguably, some of the best ales in the UK and raising much-needed funds for local charities. We receive great support from many breweries but I would like to extend my thanks to two local breweries in particular, Theakston and Daleside.”

As is the way with Harrogate Beer Festival, the more pints are sunk, the more the fundraising for charity rises.

Over the past 25 years, the festival has supported many good causes. This year, the event will raise funds for the Harrogate Homeless Project, Guide Dogs, National Autistic Society, Carers Resource and Fighting Ependymoma: The Chris Bramhall Children’s Brain Tumour Research Charity.

Craig said: “We have been raising a glass to great ales for 25 years now and we want to raise everyone’s spirit during the cold months. It’s a great chance to enjoy a drink with friends.”

Harrogate Beer Festival runs on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 from 6pm to 11.30pm and on Saturday, March 14 from 4pm to 11.30pm.
