Having enjoyed success with his previous book The Little Big Beat Book, which was released by New Haven Publishing, the same company is behind his new book.

Hoy, who has worked with many of the big names of dance music in his more than ten-year career, hopes his book will come out in time for the unveiling of Get Back, Oscar-winner Peter Jackson's much anticipated brand new version of The Beatles' film Let It Be in early autumn.

Hoy's new book provides evidence of yet another Harrogate connection to the world's greatest ever rock band who famously played the Royal Hall here in March 1963 supported by band Ricky Fenton and the Apaches who included local musicians George McCormick, Bob Mason and Dennis Wardman.

The visit by John, Paul,George and Ringo is celebrated in a new window display in Harrogate town centre at what was formerly Hotter shoe shop.

Harrogate BID (Business Improvement District) is using empty shops to tell the tale of the spa town’s connection to cultural history and famous people - including The Beatles, Louis Armstrong and, coming soon, Sir Winston Churchill.

The organisation, whose remit is to drive footfall into the retail heart of the town, has installed its first ‘well known’ window vinyl, on the corner of Cambridge Street and Market Square.

The project is a collaboration between Harrogate historian Malcom Neesam, creative agency The Lift Agency, and signs and graphic experts, De-signs.

As ever, Rory Hoy is enjoying a busy year even in lockdown with radio appearances, live events and imminent record releases, incouding a new single featuring fantastic R&B vocalist Tori Cross from London.

Last month saw Rory produce up a two hour mix of what he describes as "funky goodness" or Harrogate Community Radio called March Madness, which included verything from breakbeats to funk to house and some special remixes and edits.

This summer will see Rory Hoy perform live at Deer Shed Festival at Topcliffe near Masham.

The event proper may have now been cancelled because of fears over the question of event insurance should Covid rules change again but organisers Oliver and Kate Webster have organised a fantastic Base Camp weekend similar to last year.
