Dante Marioni, who trained at the world famous Pilchuck School of Glass In Washington State, will be presenting glass sculptures - classically shaped vases - with immensely technically accomplished surface treatments in an array of vibrant colours.

Each one is hand made and is a unique piece.

Recognised as the world’s leading reticello glass artist (a technique of creating a lattice work net pattern in glass) Marioni's work can be found in museums and galleries around the world including London’s V&A, New York’s Museum of Art and Design and Japan’s National Museum of Modern Art.

This is the first time he has had a show in Yorkshire and Messums is his sole representative in the UK.

The other show is of a remarkable artist who is presenting a series of his large scale abstract drawings - Charles Poulsen who has shown his drawings and sculpture throughout the UK.

But the Messums Harrogate exhibition will be Poulsen's first show in Yorkshire.

Both shows start on October 31 and run until November 28 and offer the perfect illustratration of Messums' commitment to showcasing the best of national and international art and craft to visitors in its galleries in London, Wiltshire and Yorkshire.

Free online artist talks and interviews for each show can be booked on the gallery website - www.messsumsyorkshire.com as Messums is passionate about linking visitors to the artists themselves and about explaining how they create their artworks.

The talks will take place as follows:
