AFTER winning the non-Shakespeare component of this year’s Nidderdale One-Act Drama Festival with Thomas Middleton’s grim and violent Jacobean drama of 1608, A Yorkshire Tragedy, Woodlands Drama Group are to take their production to the All-England Theatre Festival’s North Central quarter-final at North Stainley Village Hall on April 14.

There this Harrogate group will meet Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society who will perform the dark comedy Kevins Above by Claire Scott.

Andrew Rawlinson of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators will decide which of these two teams should advance to the AETF’s Northern semi-final at Bishop Monkton on May 26.

Also appearing at North Stainley will be Pink Lady Productions, outright winners of the Nidderdale Festival, who are already guaranteed a semi-final place with their intriguing, modern take on Othello.

The AETF North Central Quarter Final starts at 7pm.
