Harrogate cafe-bar restaurant Jakes is to take part in the current Harrogate Comedy Festival. The family-owned Italian eaterie will welcome TV comedian Paul Sinha this Saturday for a fun-packed comedy quiz night.
Sinha is the star of ITV’s The Chase and is also ranked 18th in the UK’s quiz listings having appeared on shows such as University Challenge and The Weakest Link.
The laughter will begin at 5pm and includes a chance to enjoy the menu created by head chef Andrew Burn, who has worked for both Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White and who specialises in dishes using locally-sourced ingredients.
Jakes owner Suzanne Knowles said: “We’re delighted to be taking part in Harrogate’s comedy festival. It’s such a major event for our town and we couldn’t wait to get involved.
“We see Jakes as a big part of the Harrogate community, just like the Harrogate Comedy Festival, so when the chance to join in came along, we couldn’t say no.
She added: “We’re really excited that the reputation and awareness of the festival has grown so significantly and that so many well-known comedians will be taking part this year. We’re hoping the quiz will be a fantastic night and that we can impress Paul with our comedy knowledge!”
Tickets for the event cost £5 each and are available through the Harrogate Theatre box office on 01423 502116 or online at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk
