WITH well over seven hundred entries for the AmusedMoose LaughOff Awards, stand-up comedy has never been so popular.

With the nine London heats already completed the search for the next comedy star is well underway; and having ignited the careers of Jimmy Carr, Simon Amstell, Rhod Gilbert, Jack Whitehall, Sarah Millican, Greg Davis, Mark Watson, Andi Osho and many more, the LaughOff Awards have an impressive track record.

rehab bar in Harrogate, in association with sitting room comedy club, is one of just four venues chosen to host the competition; the other locations being London, Dublin and Edinburgh.

Following an intensive auditioning process, some of the best new acts in the country will perform five minutes of original material in the North of England heats this Sunday.

Hosted by sitting room founder and resident MC, Tom Taylor, this event starts at 4pm and is free entry. The heats should be completed by 5.30pm.

The seven best performers from the afternoon heat will then be invited back to the Northern Quarter Final, commencing at 8pm, where they will perform ten minute sets.

Carly has also appeared on The Rob Brydon Show. Entry for the Quarter Final is just £6 with tickets available on the door or from www.sittingroomcomedy.com.
