It’s the final week of the Harrogate Comedy Festival and there’s still a host of great shows to come, as well as a star performance by the comedy contest winner, writes Graham Chalmers.

The hilariously deadpan and geeky Peter Brush from Leeds battled his way through the heats and the final of Harrogate Comedian of the Year competition in order to secure a slot at this Saturday’s Hyena Comedy Club Closing Gala at Harrogate Theatre.

See this Thursday’s Harrogate Advertiser for a review and more details.

As well as that star-studded closing gala, the remaining shows in the festival feature names such as Paul Foot, Danny Bhoy, Hot with Harrogate’s Damsel Sophie, The Hairy Bikers (extra show added at 4pm this Friday) and the up-and-coming comedian Andi Osho.

Fresh from her critically acclaimed sold-out short run at London’s Soho Theatre in January this year, Andi will be bringing her new show, All The Single Ladies (previously a sell out at Edinburgh) to Harrogate Theatre this Thursday, October 18.

Andi is a single lady herself and never hides the fact during her hilarious set that she hopes Mr Right could be lurking in the audience ready to whisk her away on a heady love trip!

Andi is an award winning stand-up star with much talked about appearances on BBC’s Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and Channel 4’s O2 Comedy Gala and Stand Up For The Week.

With an abundance of cheeky, quick wit Andi is also a popular guest on TV and radio with a weekly slot on BBC Radio 4 Extra.

She was described as “warm and witty” by The Independent and “hilarious” The Sun.
