Reading & Leeds Festivals have unveiled American funk-rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers as the first headliners of Leeds Festival 2016 - and it's a festival exclusive

Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer will be taking to the main stage for what promises to be a phenomenal headline set playing tracks from their forthcoming studio album, their 11th.
Leeds Festival supremo Melvin Benn said: "I'm thrilled to be able to announce Red Hot Chili Peppers as the first headliner for Reading & Leeds 2016, as a festival exclusive. Their incredible live show will be an unforgettable headline performance at the UK's biggest music festival.
"We’ve still got some really exciting names to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up. It’s going to be our best year yet.”
Other acts have also just been announced, undoubtedly the first of many to come. . .
The names include: The 1975, Twenty One Pilots, Slaves, Rat Boy, Crossfaith, HINDS and DJ EZ.
Tickets are on sale now for both weekend and day.
