A popular exhibition which is open to budding artists in the Harrogate district is to return to the Mercer Art Gallery in September.

The Harrogate Open Exhibition invites artists to submit their work for exhibition, with visitors and experts voting on their favourite to win one of four cash prizes.

Judges will be Adam King, local artist and winner of the Harrogate Open 2010, Caroline Krzesinska, freelance art curator, and Jane Sellars, curator of art for Harrogate Borough Council.

Application forms are available from the gallery or through the council’s website. Entry is £5 (concessions £3) and artists can submit up to three pieces between September 5 and 9. The exhibition will run from September 16 to January 20.
