Harrogate’s best band of the last 10 years, in Gig Scene’s opinion, The Birdman Rallies are playing a live show at Zoso bar in Harrogate on Saturday night.
Led by the multi-talented Danny Webster, they were awarded Gig Scene’s top album of the year for the magnificent Moons a couple of years back and now boast a relatively new member on bass in the shape of Ashley Johnson.
This incredibly inventive and melodic band have achieved plays on Radio 1, 2 and 6music and support slots with the likes of The Joy Formidable, Gruff Rhys, Stornoway.
In a strong line-up at this stylish bar on Union Street (at the back of Debenhams store), passionate rockers Arc of Manapples will also be playing, as well as the gentler sounds of Sarah Boyle.
Also appearing will be Greig Johnson of Las Sangras who will be appearing in his Lunge Dolphin comedy guise – as officially endorsed by Matt Lucas, no less!
The live action kicks off at 8pm. Entry is £4 on the door.
l The Birdman Rallies are also playing The Basement at York’s City Screen on April 18 with ex-Harrogate acoustic star Karl Culley who’s coming over from Poland for the gig.
