It’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it. Local singer-songwriter Rupert Stroud is to support snoozesome hitmaker James Blunt at a major concert at Dalby Forest.
This is a big coup for Stroud, whose new single Morning Light has just been released.
It’s already received airplay on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show, as well as BBC6 Music and BBC Introducing.
It’s eminently possible the song will be pretty well known before he steps on stage at Blunt’s outdoor show at Dalby Forest near Pickering on Thursday, June 26 as part of Blunt’s Forestry Commission tour.
The talented Stroud is certainly moving in the right direction.
Having already appeared live as the musical guest at Manchester City’s Etihad stadium before their Premier League match against Southampton, Rupert has further appearances lined up at Tramlines Festival in Sheffield and the City of Manchester Sport & Musical Festival, not to forget Live at Leeds on the first May bank holiday weekend.
Rupert Stroud’s Morning Light is available now on iTunes and Amazon.
