School maybe out but the Rock Summer School is very definitely on.

The ROCK1000 event is giving youngsters across the district the opportunity to rock out, build confidence and make new friends. It forms part of an initiative by School Of Rock And Pop to raise £1,000 for Saint Michael’s Hospice over the next year through rock workshops and rock concerts.

Tutor Andrew Meadowcroft said: “We’ve been looking forward to a great day at Harrogate High School. It’s always a real joy to see young musicians who meet as strangers playing as a band in a matter of minutes.”

Similar events take place on August 15 and 16 and in the autumn half-term on October 24 and 25.

Parents wanting more information about the next workshops can telephone 0845 234 0195 or email andrew@schoolofrockandpop.com.
