Some of the district’s best brass bands, including musicians from Ripon, Knaresborough and Wetherby, are to feature prominently in the final weekend of the Tour de Brass.
As well as The Yorkshire Prom at York Barbican on Sunday, June 22 starring the Black Dyke Band and poet Ian McMillan, a series of free, daytime concerts is also to take place that weekend as the culimination of this Yorkshire Festival highlight.
The same day sees Knaresborough Silver Band playing at Henshaw’s Arts & Crafts Cafe from 1pm-3pm.
The day before has a concert by Ripon City Band, who have qualified for the final of this year’s National Brass Band Championships, in the market square from 2pm-4pm.
The same days also sees Wetherby Silver Band playing in the marquee in Parliament Street in York from 11am to noon as part of York Festival of Food and Drink.
