A TEENAGER from Harrogate, who is well known for his unique talent in singing and drama, is celebrating a series of successes.
Christian Lunn 19, a former pupil at St Aidan’s and St John Fishers Associated Sixth Form who has wowed Harrogate audiences throughout the years since he began performing at the age of four, has won a place in the final of the national competition, Festival 4 Stars.
Christian will be taking part in the final in November in Glasgow in front of a panel of celebrity judges (who in the past have included Cheryl Baker and Duncan James), in his quest to win the star prize, a three single record deal with the MKVIBE Record label. Christian is currently looking for a sponsor for this event and any interested parties should contact him at email@example.com.
Earlier in the year, Christian, who has been a member of the Knaresborough School of Speech and Drama from the age of four, was also named the Harrogate Festival Acting Champion at the Harrogate Competitive Festival for Music Speech and Drama, and will be competing for the Yorkshire and Humberside Festivals Regional Championships 2011, Champion of Champions title in September.
Christian’s biggest achievement this year, however, and the one which he is most excited about, is being offered a place at the prestigious Guildford School of Acting to study a BA in Musical Theatre.
Christian will be leaving Harrogate later this year to attend the school, which has trained several household names including Michael Ball, Brenda Blethyn and Bill Nighy.
He will be sorely missed by the town where he has supported and organised many charity events, including a concert for the Young Carer’s Charity in Harrogate.
Christian’s next big role will be taking part in the new musical Boiling Frog which premiers at Harrogate Theatre from July 14-16. Christian will be playing the mischievous tormentor Twelve in this exciting production, written and directed by local company Humruddy Productions.
Christian said “I’m really looking forward to taking part in Boiling Frog as the character Twelve.
“Taking part in a brand new musical has meant I can bring my own creativity to the part, and put my own iconic stamp on this truly unique character”.
