Would-be stage stars in Yorkshire are welcome to audition for a brand new play as part of the forthcoming Yorkshire Festival.
Harrogate Theatre and playwright Julie Amanda Bokowiec are looking for a supporting cast of ten people aged 17 and over for the Harrogate performances of Bokowiec’s new play Lost Boy Racer, a Lawrence Batley Theatre production and a cultural commission for the Yorkshire Festival 2014.
The workshop audition will take on Saturday, April 26 at Harrogate Theatre.
In an exciting year at Harrogate Theatre and the Royal Hall, there’s a massive variety of shows coming up from comedy to dance, opera, folk and the blues.
Comedy includes Patrick Monahan who arrives at Harrogate Theatre hot-footed from ITV’s reality diving programme Splash! on Thursday, April 10.
Also appearing at Harrogate Theatre are popular deadpan American mirth-maker Rich Hall on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 and no-nonsense Asian stand-up Paul Chowdhry on Saturday, May 4.
Meanwhile, Omid Djalili appears at the Royal Hall on Monday, October 6 having become a household name through the success of Hollywood blockbuster The Mummy.
For dance fans, Flash Mob, a high-impact, full-energy show comes to the Royal Hall on Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22 with the stars of TV dance shows including Strictly, Britain’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and Got To Dance, including Strictly Come Dancing’s Kevin Clifton (aka ‘Kevin from Grimsby’) and Karen Hauer in the headline slot.
Opera fans can look forward to The Marriage of Figaro by Swansea City Opera at Harrogate Theatre on Thursday, May 8, folk fans have West Country stalwarts Show of Hands at the Royal Hall on Thursday, November 13.
Last, but not least, blues fans can look forward to the legendary Robert Cray on Thursday, May 8 at the Royal Hall.
