Nicely in time for an exciting concert starring leading folk singer Chris Wood, Kula Productions in Knaresborough have announced a name change to Frazer T Music.

Two years after the sad death of his Kula partner John Haxby, Mike Addison says he has decided to align the name of music promotions at Frazer Theatre in Knaresborough with the venue where we are holding our events.

Mike said: “Frazer Theatre Music is the new name for quality live acts wanting to play at this fantastic 127 seater venue. Over the last 12 months we have been working to bring together all the things that make the events special at this great venue. The forthcoming show by Chris Wood should be another memorable night.”

Criticised by an art school lecturer as having “a remarkable eye for trivia” Chris Wood’s love of small things has made him one of England’s most vivid and arresting song writers.

He was recently nominated for Best Original Song for None The Wiser, the title track of his current album in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2014.

Wood has also worked and collaborated with a long list of distinguished artists, most recently Billy Bragg, Eliza and Martin Carthy in Simon Emerson’s Imagined Village.

His duet with Eliza added to the Villager’s winning another Folk Award for Best Traditional Song.

Chris Wood plays Frazer Theatre in Knaresborough Saturday, February 8 with support act Ian Wallace.

Among the acts that Mike Addison helped John Haxby bring to Knaresborough and Harrogatein a brief but thrilling three years were: Martin Simpson, Eliza Carthy, Deborah Bonham, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, Maggie Bell and Dave Kelly, John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett, John Tams and Barry Coope, Christine Collister, Claire Martin, Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri, Neil Innes, Mark Moraghan and Nicky Campbell, Ashley Hutchings, Hazel O’Connor, Gordon Giltrap, Mari Wilson, The Quireboys, Heidi Talbot, The Bad Shepherds, Spirit Of Smokie and more.,
