THE ever-popular RipleyBlues music nights continue this month with a couple of great live acts.
Tomorrow, Saturday, sees The Stumble playing Ripley Town Hall. A six-piece Chicago style rhythm n blues band, Blues in Britain described them thus:
“With all due respect to other worthy contenders there is now no better blues band in Britain.”
Later in the month on Saturday, September 24, sees The Spikedrivers appear at Ripley Town Hall for an all seated gig in the upstairs studio.
One of the most original, innovative and exciting bands around, their combination of gutsy slide guitar, rock-solid bass, infectious grooves and highly distinctive vocals, creates a sound that conjurs up southern juke-joints and lazy front porches as well as dust bowls and railroad tracks disappearing into the distance.

RipleyBlues are also presenting another of their movie nights on Friday, September 16.
The film screening in the upstairs “cinema” will be the Oscar-winner The King’s Speech.
