Being Strictly Stars certainly helps to pull in an audience; the auditorium was packed to the rafters as dance, and real-life partners Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manra paid tribute to the legend – Fred Astaire.
Theatre company Creative Cow brings an evening of hilarity and satire in this witty adaptation of Graham Greene’s spy thriller Our Man in Havana to York Theatre Royal from Wednesday May 31 to Saturday June 3.

Performers Joseph Maudsley, Matthew Pearson and James Percy bounded onto the stage informing us that while trying to park their van nicknamed Titus Vandronicus in a car park in Leicester, they discovered a vast sheaf of papers in a hole ( near a pile of unimportant bones ), which turned out to be the long-lost first play written by one William Shakespeare, aged 17.

It is a brave step to transfer an iconic film into a stage play. Sometimes it works and other times it does not. In this particular case Terry Johnson’s adaptation coupled with Lucy Bailey’s direction has resulted in a stylish, funny and emotionally charged production.
