Washburn centre celebrating local crafts, poetry and recipes

A ‘made locally’ event featuring crafts and products is taking place at the Washburn Heritage Centre based at Fewston Church.

The event will be held over the bank holiday weekend, Saturday to Monday (August 25 - 27), from 11am - 4.30pm.

It will celebrate a variety of local crafts and products made in and around the Washburn Valley and some of these products will be on sale.

Also on sale will be a poetry anthology, ‘A Mixed Bunch – The flowers of the Washburn and beyond’, priced £5.

These are poems written by James Nash and the Courtyard Writers of Otley.

The weekend will also see the launch of a recipe book compiled by local people in the Washburn Valley and this will also be on sale.

Visitors will also have the chance to see Fewston Parish Church’s new exhibition – ‘How Green is our valley?’.
